Dr. Anukool Deshpande is a highly skilled and experienced ophthalmologist with a comprehensive academic background and over five years of dedicated clinical service. He completed his M.B.B.S. from the prestigious J.J. Hospital, Mumbai in 2015, followed by a Diplomate of National Board (DNB) in Ophthalmology from H.V. Desai Eye Institute, Pune in 2019. He further pursued fellowships and observerships in subspecialties such as refractive surgery, retinopathy of prematurity, and glaucoma. His credentials also include international recognitions like FICO (UK), MRCSEd (UK), FAICO in Glaucoma, and FRCS Glasgow.

Formerly serving as a Divisional Medical Officer at Jagjivan Ram Railway Hospital, Mumbai Central (2020 onwards), Dr. Anukool Deshpande developed deep expertise in both routine and complex ophthalmic care. He independently performed over 8000 phacoemulsification cataract surgeries with monofocal, multifocal, and toric IOLs, along with over 5000 small incision cataract surgeries. His surgical repertoire includes trabeculectomies, glaucoma drainage device implantation, pterygium excision with grafts, anterior vitrectomies, iridoplasty, and complex anterior segment reconstruction procedures.

Currently, he is working as an Associate Consultant at Centre for Sight, Chembur, where he continues to deliver advanced ophthalmic care with a focus on precision-driven surgical outcomes and comprehensive patient management.

In addition to cataract and glaucoma surgeries, he has experience with intravitreal injections, Ozurdex implantation, keratoplasties, SFIOL, and various oculoplastic procedures like entropion/ectropion repairs and tarsorrhaphies. He is adept at managing ophthalmic emergencies such as ocular trauma, chemical injuries, and lid laceration repairs.

Dr. Anukool Deshpande is proficient in the use of advanced diagnostic and therapeutic equipment including OCT, IOL Master, YAG laser, gonioscopy, slit-lamp photography, Oculyzer, fundus imaging, and perimetry. His hands-on OPD experience includes procedures like corneal scraping, glue and BCL application, suture removal, and indirect ophthalmoscopy.
